About the Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our small but high-performing team. In this role, you’ll help shape the architecture, product direction, and user experience. As an early engineer, you’ll have real ownership and impact from day one.
Responsibilities:

Own and ship features end-to-end — from concept to deployment

Work closely with users to understand their needs and workflows

Partner with design to create intuitive, responsive, and delightful UIs

Design and build frontend architecture for scale and long-term maintainability

Optimize performance and usability across a complex application

Leverage and integrate AI tools to transform permitting data and documents into structured, usable formats

Contribute to team culture, technical direction, and hiring as we grow
Requirements:

7+ years of experience working with modern frontend technologies, especially React.js

Strong grasp of frontend architecture, performance optimization, and state management

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, comfortable working in-person 4 days/week

Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments — you define the problems worth solving

Passionate about crafting polished UI and collaborating deeply with design

Experienced in building systems that balance scalability and speed

Eager to learn and apply new technologies, especially around AI, automation, and data processing
