We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join our client’s legal team remotely, operating in the EST Time Zone.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with proven experience in California court electronic filings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting documents through various California e-filing platforms, ensuring all submissions comply with state and federal court rules and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and submit legal documents for electronic filing in California state and federal courts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to court regulations.
  • Handle preparation tasks such as OCR, bookmarking, document extraction, and formatting in compliance with court requirements.
  • Maintain and organize both physical and electronic case files, including pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and correspondence.
  • Assist in basic legal research tasks as needed, including case law, statutes, and other relevant regulations.
  • Accurately input and update relevant case information into legal databases.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with direct experience in California court electronic filing processes.
  • Proficient with California state and federal court electronic filing platforms.
  • Associate degree or Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with legal case management software and tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with California court systems and legal procedures is preferred.
