We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of two companies. This role requires strong mathematical skills, financial acumen, and proficiency in Xero and Google Sheets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inventory balances, financial tracking, reconciliations, VAT calculations, payroll processing, and billing management. This is a crucial role that requires accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail to ensure smooth financial operations across multiple entities.
Skills Required
- Strong Financial & Accounting Knowledge – Must have experience handling multi-business financials, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Xero Proficiency – Able to reconcile transactions, upload invoices, and maintain financial records accurately.
- Google Sheets / Excel Mastery – Must be able to manage large datasets, track finances, and generate financial reports.
- Mathematical & Analytical Skills – Ability to calculate VAT, shipping costs, payroll, and cash flow management efficiently.
- Billing & Invoicing Expertise – Experience in creating, managing, and sending invoices for multiple business services.
- Attention to Detail & Organisation – Ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Reconciliation:
1. Manage financial records for two companies, keeping track of all transactions.
2. Oversee stock inventory balances and cash flow tracking.
3. Reconcile Xero accounts, ensuring all invoices and payments are logged correctly.
4. Maintain and monitor multiple bank accounts, credit cards, and cash balances.
- Billing & Invoicing
1. Handle monthly billing for services provided to other businesses (AJ Ships, store services, shipping, advertising, etc.).
2. Send client invoices and keep Google Sheets updated in real-time.
3. Ensure all invoices, receipts, and payment documentation are organised and recorded properly.
- Taxation & Payroll
1. Calculate VAT accurately (quarterly for UK, monthly for international sales).
2. Manage PAYE & Payroll processing for all staff members, updating relevant financial sheets.
3. Liaise with external teams for international staff payments.
- Advanced Financial Tracking & Cost Calculations
1. Create and maintain a live financial tracking system for real-time insights into business finances.
2. Calculate container shipping costs using a shipping cost calculator.
3. Monitor and ensure timely payments to suppliers and service providers.
