Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior/Principal QA Engineer with strong front-end (FE)/user interface (UI) skills to join our team. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment and is excited about being a key player in shipping features daily. You will be expected to split your time evenly between QA automation and manual testing, ensuring the highest quality standards across our product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the QA process for the team, balancing both automation and manual testing.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to develop and execute test plans for new features and updates.
  • Ensure the overall quality of the product with a strong focus on front-end/UI.
  • Continuously improve our testing processes and frameworks.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Angular, React, Ember, Vue, or Node is essential. The hiring process includes a 2-hour assessment focused on FE/UI skills.
  • Minimum 3 years in QA, with a preference for 5-8 years. Experience should include a balanced mix of automation and manual testing.
  • A degree in Computer Science (CS) or a STEM field, with strong coding abilities.
  • Previous experience at an early-stage startup, ideally as the first QA engineer, is highly valued.
  • Humble, with a low ego, and willing to work as an individual contributor (IC).

Strongly Preferred 

  • Experience as the first or an early QA engineer at a startup is a significant plus.
  • Experience with Cypress, AWS, AI, SaaS, or in social missions like health, clean energy, agriculture, or climate tech.
  • Advanced degrees in STEM fields are preferred, with education from reputed universities seen as a strong signal of ability.
  • First-generation immigrants often demonstrate a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication, making them strong candidates for this role.
